What everyone doin to prep for the upcoming spring trout opener? Or just fishin in general?
I've spent mornin watching fly fishin vids on YouTube, specifically casting vids just to put sine if the basics back into my brain. Went thru my gear n threw out some trash n reorganized my fly boxes, cleaned some equipment, stripped off my fly lines and examined for nicks, bad spots etc. also dug out my spinning rods and went over them, unspooled one so I can reload with 2-4lb line.
Looked for my net, it's MIA. Basically just getting my gear maintained n ready.
Anyone else gettin itchy?

Spent Saturday and part of Sunday at the Great Waters Fly Fishing EXPO in Blaine north of Mpls, talking to old friends, getting invited to fish in the Driftless and points north, planning a return June trip to the North Shore for brook trout, visiting vendors and taking in presentations and workshops, and selling my books.

I've been tying wet flies, nymphs and streamers, about 30 dozen since Christmas, and now it's on to the dry flies.

I don't much care to fish in the snow, so I'll have a late start this year. I'll be ready.

Ya, I don't fish in the snow either. Spose if it wasn't too deep n it was a fairly nice 30 some degrees I might.
Sounds like your prep work outdid mine! I can't tie, haven't really spent slit of time at it. Have a AA vise and a small selection of material and tools but......
Just want winter to be over and gettin cabin fever.
