One of the things that smallstreams has been rightfully known for are the stories. We've had contests, thought about books, etc. in the past. Sure, there's trip reports and photos and all, but the stories... that's some interweb good eatin' right there~!

So here's a fun one. To get your creative juices flowing, I'm not asking for a full blown story... post a haiku about your small stream experiences...

Looseley translated and perfect for our use, a Haiku is three lines, in 5-7-5 syllables with at least one reference to a season.

Sort of like this:

water over stones
autumn chill, leaves changing shades
listen to the stream

So, let's hear yours!

I'll have a go.....

fireflies fluttering
scented smoke, flickering flames
hypnotic dreamer

Leaves fall to water.
At the strike I lift my rod,
A trout pulls for home.

The strike is silent
The response explosive
The outcome uncertain

Mist rising from pool,
Smell of cedar in the air,
Fresh day brings new life.
