Well I managed to get down to the Avon again for a few more hours this morning. I got up bright and early - 5am. It was the sun that was bright, not me
As expected I was the only one about and I decided to retrace my steps from last week.
The start of the fishery:
381
Bright and sunny:
382
In the water and ready to start
384
Fish hooked and lost just beneath the branches (grrrr):
386
Ahaa, a fish at last:
387
Followed by two more of a similar size (small !).
Besides the lost fish I also managed to give 4 flies to the trees and bushes and lost count of the number of times I got my loose line wrapped in to the cow parsley (white flowering plant in the photos). Not quite as slick as last week and the fish were smaller but they were fish nonetheless.
There are a couple of spots where I'm sure there ought to be some better fish the challenge is how to catch them. Might try pulling a streamer through and see what hangs on the end.
The sun has gone and the rain is back - it must a typical English summer
