Just wanted to share some pics of my small stream fly fishing adventures over the last year.
All stream pics are from CT, NY, MA & NH.
Starts with first fish of 2011 & ends with first fish of 2012.
Wishing everyone a great 2012 on the water.
A.T.

Nice to see all those photos pulled together in one thread. Have enjoyed reading about your adventures...some of those high gradient stream photos are amazing.

Yeah , now that I've been thinking about it, this thread has me itching to get out on some flowing water.

Very nice photos. What type of trout is that one with the brown markings, about halfway through the thread? The brook trout are a very pretty fish. I've never caught them in Australia but will be checking out an isolated creek on Wednesday that I'm told contains brookies.
Cheers,
Steve.

Spod, that's a Tiger trout (a cross between a brook trout & a brown trout).
Hope you find brookies on your trip.
Put up some pics if you do.

Living here in Arizona, I am spoiled rotten. Where everyone is freezing their butts off, it is great Fly Fishing weather (low to mid- 70's), though it dropped a bit to low 60's. Make it a 10 to 15 degree difference up on the Mountain, and you have great Fly Fishing (read Charlie Meck's book, " Arizona Streams And Their Hatches). The Mountain Streams and Lakes here in Arizona are one of the best kept secrets Arizona has the largest stand of Ponderosa Pine in the United States; Large Elk, Muley and Cous Whitetail, Couger, Bear....makes for great hunting; Wing Shooting for Dove, Qual, Duck, etc). It is not uncommon to fish to a hatch of Blue Winged Olives and Tricos on Christmas day. I have fishing up in the mountains (Rose Canyon & Mount Lemmon) 20 miles from me. Mount Graham, an hour drive. White Mountains, 3 1/2 hour drive along with Mongollen Rim. Even though there is some snow above 9000 feet in the White Mountains, there still is great fishing for Trout and Graying. Then you add great fishing for line busting Bass, World record Striper fishing, Crappie, Walleye (east of Phoenix), Smallmouth Bass,etc.. All types of Cats. Sea OF Cortez (Rocky Point, Mexico) 3 1/2 hour drive with great Saltwater Fly Fishing for Marlin, Blue & Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Mako Shark, and Many other Saltwater species. Lees Ferry, and the San Juan are just a days drive. So is the Ba Ja !!! Yep........spoiled rotten. Don't dare hang up the Fly Rods during Winter.
