Hey, I live in eastern Kansas, not exactly a treasure trove of stream fishing, however, I love to chase the wild trout in Missouri when I have the time. I look forward to contributing to the conversations here and to learning all I can from the experts!

Thanks Gus! I hope to have found a group here with the same love I have for the early Orvis graphite rods.

Hi:

Welcome.

Lived in SW Ks.(Haviland) from 5th -10th grade.

I do not think there is any fly fishing this time of year, if ever in that part of the state.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

All the creeks in Kansas hold sunfish species and they are worthy fly fishing quarry when you cannot make it to a trout or coolwater stream.

Absolutely. If fly fishers reserve their time solely for salmonids, they are completely missing the boat!

Gus, you are absolutely right. In Texas, you all have the Guadalupe Bass and the longears from different drainages. Up here, we have your garden variety green sunfish, bluegill, largemouth, longear and occasionally spotted bass when you are out in the Flint Hills
