Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since I last posted here, but unfortunately fishing has taken a back seat to school and my upcoming entry to the real world. It is time for me to get rid of some of my gear, as I intend on moving back to Hawaii after graduation and we unfortunately don’t have many trout streams there!

I have a 7’6” hollow built chalk stream special. It is a medium flamed hollow built blank built by Chris Bogart of Shenandoah Rods. As you may know, Chris builds beautiful rod blanks with his CNC mill, allowing each strip of the blank to be nearly identical. This means a very, very straight blank that casts absolutely beautifully. This particular blank is based off of a Devine Fairy taper, and as I said, casts beautifully. The rod has been built out by myself, having clear wraps with a single turn inlay of java in the middle of each wrap. The ferrules are nickel-silver and were extruded and installed by Chris, but were blued into an antique finish. The guides are all blues Snakebrand, and the stripping guide is a Struble agate. The reel seat and components are REC, with a Hawaiian Koa wood insert. Again, the seat components were blued by me into an antique finish. The grip is cork wrapped in rattan, but I deliberately left it unfinished as I was not sure if I liked the way it felt. It could easily we removed and the cork lightly sanded back to its original finish. I have paired this rod with a Bill Ballan Midge, along with a JP Thebault 3wt silk line. All together, the rod and reel are perfectly balanced at the front of the grip. It is a beautiful combination, and I would very much prefer to not separate them. The combo has only been fished twice, and is in perfect shape. The reel comes with a custom display box made by Bill himself, and the rod has a very nice matching sock and tube from REC. I am asking $800 for everything.
