I was sent a Hardy 6 FOOT, 3LINE , GLASS ROD, for testing on the mountain streams, after the day was over & a good reflect, on all that took place streamside & the Ability of the rod, to perform on a mountain stream, i came away with mixed thoughts, on the rod. A little more fine tuning with different lines, will soon show if the rod will be a keeper????. OR NOT?????.

Largest fish of the day fell for a dry, MR Rapidan size 14, with may flies on the surface it was a good choice.

Running a dry down through each pool & feeding lane produce Quick rises & plenty of sport

Another one fell to the Charms of the Rapidan

Largest fish was lifted in the fast water in front of the boulder, bent the glass rod till the butt, fighting him away from the tree roots.

Changed over to a small bead head & searched the pools with good results.

With higher Air & water TEMPS soon, these pools will give good enjoyment to the dry fly & a little bamboo in hand.

This is my fist post in over a year, as a few Health problems ,kept me away.
Hope you enjoy .

Great to see you back, I used to love reading your posts and the pictures that accompanied them. It's the sort of fishing I dream about everyday.

Hope all is well health wise and that we get to see more of your ventures.

Honda450,
Good to see you back again!
Realy funny. I fished the same combination. Hardy glass rod and ATH Traun. Great looking equipment. I used the Hardy Aln #2 5'. My rod was not strong enough to drill fishes greater than 12 inches which sometimes can be hooked in my favourite smallstream. I always try to keep the drill time short to preserve trouts health. So the rod will find a new owner in ebay.
Looking foreward to your experience with rod and reel.

Regards
Thomas
