a strange combination

Since a few years I own an old used an poor repaired Partridge Cane Rod #4 and 6' long. Last month I made a few test casts and noticed that the rod works better than it looks. So I had the Idea to test wether it is still fishable. For small stream fishing I love nature colored flylines. So I grabed the 'indestructible' Loop reel with the green Hardy Line. What a strange combination! But I can tell you rod, reel and line worked fine and if I look at the pictures it does not look so bad as I thought it would do.

It was a good day for starting season opening an the upcoming spring couldn't be overlooked.
