View Full Version : December Brookies on the Dry Fly

Saturday was one of those days wher the air temps moderated to 35 to 40, no wind and bright sunshine. I deciede to fish a small Class 1 stream, selecting some of the slower pools. At first I fished a BHPT, then switched to a "Bomber". After a few drifts I noticed a subtle rise, the fish missed it though. I continued to drift the fly and was soon rewarded with a rise, hookup and a wild brookie to hand. I had several more fish take that "Bomber" and being this late in December, I consider this one of my better days on this stream.

Wow, that's nice, thinking of going out myself, have not been out in a while, been busy splitting wood.

Pic#2 reminds me of the LBS (Little Black Stonefly) hatch and how winter skinny brookies act when the bugs fall off of rocks. Great picture.

beautiful fish,
nice to see you have a better fishing day,
this December was unusual warm here,
well ,until few days ago
weather was change during my last trip
