Saturday was one of those days wher the air temps moderated to 35 to 40, no wind and bright sunshine. I deciede to fish a small Class 1 stream, selecting some of the slower pools. At first I fished a BHPT, then switched to a "Bomber". After a few drifts I noticed a subtle rise, the fish missed it though. I continued to drift the fly and was soon rewarded with a rise, hookup and a wild brookie to hand. I had several more fish take that "Bomber" and being this late in December, I consider this one of my better days on this stream.
