Well done friend.
Was it taken on one of those reverse tied emergers?

:D that is how to get rid of the back pain Andy, indeed a carrier of Test at Wherwell, me Stoyan and Stan on a day after the grayling.

BrkTrt, it came to this wee nymph which I hoped would tempt a grayling, indeed it did that too. This fly will never see water again :)

SIze #8 flash body, no tail, black squirrel wing, partridge dyed fierybrown for the wingcase, partridge fins, goldenolive icedub thorax, 4.2mm Nymph Head bead mayfly brown.

I was in a trance for the next hour.

I do understand the trance thing ,suprised by the size of nymph ,,recent trends on the chalk seem to be very small bugs
I know one thing ,now i am getting older and creakier i do like nets with handles and not those wading nets .
Also thought it was wherewell but its been 8-10 years since I llast fished that carrier ,must give it a lash sometime soon !

What really spoiled my day was - I cast the nymph at a grayling which was nearly as long as the brown and this one got to it first.
I need a head transplant
