Just to let everyone know, after a much long anticipated wait, my 7' 4 weight Mike Shay Bamboo Fly Rod was delivered by Adam Trahan, and received with much appreciation.
I met Adam at the Factory Outlet shops past Casa Grande. One of my friends, who is an old Steel Header and retired professor from University of Oregon drove me up. Both John McGregor (who knows quite a bit about excellent Bamboo Rod craftmanship) and I were very much impressed with the quality of this fine rod. Thankyou to Mike Shay for the excellent bamboo craftmanship on this rod. It is not quite done as of yet as I will have to add a Reel seat, add and wrap the guides, and dip the rod. I have had a feel of the action on this rod, and can only say I am already slobbering, and can't wait to take it out fishing once finished.
A very nice smallstream rod, and prize from the smallstreams.com Creative Writing Contest.
For those of you who do not know, the prize was for for the winning story, "The Tale Of The Little Snow Fly". This story will be reposted since many good stories were lost on the old smallstreams web site. Again, a very big thankyou to Mike Shay, Adam Trahan, and all of you at smallstreams.com !!! I promise I will post a picture of the finished rod with a beautiful trout beside it (the first one that is caught and released on this beautiful rod) !!!!!! God Bless all of you and Tight Lines !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bigthumb:

Great stuff John. A wish for this work of art - may your casts be effortless and straight, your leaders turn over and your flies always acceptable to your quarry.
