Grasshoppers are not fished much over here, but the past week I've been giving them a go, there are large numbers of them where I fish. I've been using a small(ish) slimmed down version of the Klodhopper.
The other night I was tying a few more and decided to try a CDC & Elk version.

HOOK - TMC 5263 #10
THREAD - Grey Benecchi 6/0
BODY - CDC
LEGS - 10 Pheasant tail fibres knotted together
WING - Dear Hair

Apart from the legs it doesn't really resemble a grasshopper, but last night two 21/2lb Browns and a small Chubb gave it their approval!
Try it and let us know how it fairs with you guys. ;)

one thing about it if the fish like it, you must have done your job.
