Had an amazing day on my local stream here in South Wales last weekend, and really the first time I've managed to get out since the weather's changed from 'too cold' to 'too hot'...I'm still waiting for the 'just right' weather. Temperatures soared on the weekend though, and the fish generally headed for the more oxygenated shaded areas...so did I.

Exhausted after the long hike out of the deep valley in the high temperatures, I didn't care, it was worth every tiring step. I think I fell asleep smiling that night.

Wild trout live in the most beautiful of places :D

Three trout live here...

Prior to acceleration a quick snap is performed in order to a) free the fly line from the water’s surface and b) to prevent the fly from skating or becoming waterlogged on the lift.

My wife keeps trying to get me to take a trip over to your side of the pond.....she's now changing her strategy. Instead of trying to get me to London, she's bringing up Whales, Ireland, chalk streams, lake country and Scotland. She's sneaky like that. With reports and photo's like these I'm beginning to weaken. Simply outstanding.

Fantastic photos! Such a lush time of year. Pretty trouts.
It has been a longtime dream of mine to fish The USk &Taff someday. Someday...
I am going to have to reconsider this working for a living thing.

I have a favour to ask. If you know a publican by the name of John Lee, in Merthyr Tydfil, (I can't remember the name of the inn), next time you see him, tell him Joe from PEI says Hi.
I lost his co-ordinates awhile ago.
Thanx,
