the freestones may be blown out, but springs flow steady. bugs are out as well, at least around mid-day. before that (and assuming a dries-only mindset), try a green drake. They're still a few weeks away, but drake patterns have a habit of bringing up nice fish in the absence of any rises.

these are volcanic trout...

Sweet shots... you wouldn't happen to be up somewhere North of the intersection of I-5 and HWY44 would you? Sounds like you might be on the edge of the State of Jefferson... :D

I moved here from Medford. Decades ago I also trained all of the then new managers and supervisors in the Red Bluff Wal Mart Distribution Center when it opened... small world.
