Almost the spawn for bass...Beds are everywhere. Went out to AZ Research Park today and found 3 small bass. In about a week is when the beds will be filled.

Yesterday hit the Ocotillo area...

Thanks for the post Chef, I really enjoyed it. We get a number of tilapia species over here, as well as the breams, of which the olive bream (called Nembwe) is arguably the most sought after. They sure are fun on a fly rod, although they have their moments when it seems that just about nothing can solicit a take.

Here's a pic of a nembwe caught by Garreth Coombes on the upper Zambezi river.

Hi Gerard; That Nembwe is a good looking fish. Caught many Talapia in my early days of fly fishing and really enjoyed it.

By the By; Is that a Springer you are holding in your Avatar?

Have Fun. Jax

Nice fish. Bet it had your reel screaming. I seem to remember they were very very fast and did not understand the word Surrender. Have Fun. jax

Yep Jax, that’s them. They can spool you in a heartbeat – when they get that size and towards the end of the season when they are in tip top condition I would not try them with anything less that 200m of backing.
