My wife bought me this flask quite awhile back. I take it with me when on the stream and has carried a lot of El Presidente Brandy.

I typically fill a plastic water bottle with Johnnie Walker Black. I’ve done the same with a two liter soda bottle and a nice Cabernet on backpacking trips… not very elegant but it reduces the weight…
Cheers!

It is sturdy, does the job.

I think you've started something here fellas....
You've got me looking in the shops & on ebay for something similar to accompany some well aged port I have at home.
My 'Warmth in the wilderness'. ;)

A varied selection of flasks shown so far...interesting thread.

This is the flask I purchased over the summer - have only used water in since it's been so hot...do expect it to keep me warm this winter though.

Yup the little silver flask--for snake bites.
Ya know never did have a snake try to bite it.

I am looking to pick up a flask. Are there any features I should avoid?

Never carry water in it. You will find the prince range from very modest to too expensive in price; buy what you're comfortable with and use it.

Aloha, I have an Orvis Brown trout flask loaded with Crown Royal. Nice way to celebrate a decent sized bonefish. Mems
