So am I. April 1st is my opener. But the good fishing and spring weather won't come to May.

Brilliant pics - nice stream.

I just joined Christchurch Angling Club for the salmon fishing, they have loads of carrier streams for trout and they look really nice, hope to get some pics once the season starts.

We had our warmest January on record here in Washington (one of the wettest too :x ). It is kind of crazy that there are already budds showing up on some of the trees!

Great photos, looking forward to something similar too.
March 15th for us, usually a slow start but fingers are always crossed for luck with the weather.

I can't wait for the spring weather. Feb. may have the least number of days but seems like the longest month. Thanks for the pics.

Oh how I long for the sun on my back; and the bright sunlight shimmering on the water of a small stream as it meanders slowly by! I'm wishing my life away again! But, I'm so excited at the prospect of a new trout season looming, I can hardly wait!

I would just like to see the sun so that I know it's still there.Getting HAMMERED from our second blizzard in 5 days, early this AM the county I live in broke it's all time record of 59.3" of snow in one winter. And we did it in a 5 day period  Believe me when I say that I would much rather see those African Violets or the ripples of a splash caused by rising trout than this

In early spring several small native fish take on their breeding colors.....I always look for these---on bright, sunny spring days after a rain:
