Leader furler? I've never been able to get my head around that. What's your secret?

I just got back from visiting my folks in Dexter. Used to live in Ann Arbor but I moved to Massachusetts for college...the fishing just isn't as good out here. Last time I managed to make it back for a fishing trip with my dad and brother we floated the Two-Hearted River up in the U.P., that was the same summer I started fly fishing and realized what great rivers MI has and what I'm missing out on living out here.

Go Blue!

welcome

i did the furled leader thing for a while about 5 years back but there were some things i didn't like about them so i went back to mono leaders.

i think i may pull my jigs out and make a few more and give them a shot again.

Sweet. I am from the tri-city area, but my home waters are in Lovells. I prefer the small water as comparied to the Holy Water or anything on the Big Ausable with the exception of the white fly hatch in Mio.

We really do have great streams in Michigan!

pszy22,

Actually, the Huron's probably 100 yards or less from my parents' house. They live in that newer subdivision across from the new middle school. Their house is way towards the back...out the back door, over the large mound of dirt, across the railroad tracks, and the river's right there.

I don't usually end up visiting them when it's warm enough to fish, but I'm sure one of these days I'll end up back there in the summer for a visit with my flyrod.

Wish I could get back to MI for fishing way more than I do.
