Been experimenting a little at the vise lately to find a good small and light mayfly pattern. So I combine a few techniques that I learned, the body that Swedish tyer Micke Gröndahl showed me and the wings (CDC) that Gwilym Huges from Wales showed me when I was in England. Came up with a little pattern that apart from the tails are all CDC. It could do better with a smaller hook I know, but I had none smaller than the size 18 here for the Patridge 15BNX that I wanted to use.

Yet to try it, but I think it looks nice

Absolutely magnificent Ulf, words fail me to describe what a beautiful fly it is. Well done!

Thank you so much Jeanne!

I messed around a little more with it, using a more appropriate hook for it and went down to size 24!

The smaller hook certainly brings it to life more vividly doesn't it, but, all in all it still makes me stop and gasp at the beauty of it.

Happy New Year Friend Ulf - may 2010 be the best year yet for you and your family.
