We had some nice weather today so I fished a little stream for a while.

The stream was clear with good flows, water temps were 42 degrees.

I started fishing a streamer then changed to a Bomber dry.

Both flies brought several fish to hand.

Please enjoy this little jewel of a stream and the jewels that inhabit it.

Really nice photographs. What an interesting little stream and fit little residents. That Conifer fruiting at this time of year is a real bonus. Pick those beauties real quick or they might spoil. Jax

Stunningly beautiful! And it's surprising you can still catch fish with dries.

What is in the bowl between the bread in the second picture from the last? Olive oil?

nice photos wish I was there. Its been cold here the last few days. I have to find some open water here next week. Everything around the house is just about frozen.

Tremendous incentive to find open water (not frozen and not closed for the season). Time to get out the maps and find those thin blue lines.

Thank you,

The bowl is olive oil with seasonings and the crusty Tuscan bread is used for dipping. Very good.

The brook trout is an opportunistic feeder and will take a dry drifted right.
As the water temps chill more they will feed closer to the bottom and not move as much.

Great pics as usual. I see you tied a yellow wing on your bombers. I am a big fan of yellow wings myself, I can see it very well and the brookies don't seem to mind.

Thanks.

Got grass?

Maybe spice your experience with a little bamboo...

But nice pictures as usual.

Hi, I've just joined up and was looking back through the threads and this one stood out - that is one small stream!

It looks like it could dry out in a hot summer! How do the fish fare when conditions get tough, do they drop back downstream to bigger waters?

It does look absolutely perfect in those pictures :)

Andy,

That stream runs pretty much that same way through out the year.
It will slow some if its a dry year.

The fish can move downstream to where it joins a deeper somewhat larger stream.
