Sample of some fun images I've taken recently. Been messing more seriously with HDR photography...

Cracking photos Gus.

I picked up Photomatix a little while back but I've not had the chance to go out and take shots to play with yet... well not strictly true, I took a couple one grey miserable day on the river but lets just say the results were less than great... well ok, Awful.
I really like the effect though and yours are top notch.

I much prefer shooting straight infrared, but people really like the HDR. It's a great tool, and really makes it easier than doing it all in your photo editor (which can be done with the likes of PS or Gimp...) It has enough settings and nuances to be a pain in the arse, too. Once you get it going, let me know and I'll mail you a couple presets I've saved as places to start the tweaking...

Sweet.. Cheers Gus.

Photoshop I'm cool with but Photomatix I've barely opened. Help very gratefully accepted.

It's Photomatix Pro 3.0 I've got, I dont know if that makes a difference with preset compatability or not. Is there anything in particular with the source images you've found makes a better starting place? More than 2 stop distance between images or anything like that??? I bought a digital SLR this year and it's the the first decent camera I've owned in 25 years so I feel like I'm learning again from scratch.

Thanks again.

I love HDR Images, they take on that Video-game-like surreal aura that just makes them so appealing.

Some great work.
